Concept Cars: Toyota Camette Series
An interesting twist to the automotive world comes in the form of the latest concept vehicles to come from top automaker Toyota. When the 2012 Tokyo International Auto Show began today, Toyota will be unveiling two concept vehicles that are actually toy cars meant for children. The Camette series concept cars have interchangeable panels just as a full-sized toy car, but are battery-powered with an electric motor, which means adult supervision is required.
The two Camette cars, the Sora(green) & the Daichi(tan) offer a 1+2 seating configuration, with adult supervision coming from the right rear passenger seat that gives steering & braking assistance to the child driving in the front seat. While these two Toyota concept cars would sound like the best to hit the auto market if it were to enter showrooms, unfortunately Toyota has no plans on developing the Camette series cars into production. But, let’s think hypothetically for a second: if these cars were to enter production, just imagine how well these kids would be able to drive once they were ready to earn their driver’s license… I’m not sure about you, but I’d try to push for someone to actually bring a similar format into the market.
